Randy Leyendecker shares the amazing story of Laredo Stepping Stone
We want to witness the love of Christ to those who at times seem without hope. We distribute lots of hugs, free food, first aid, blankets, clothing, first aid needs and other items to homeless people 6 days a week. We also transport homeless people to medical appointments and facilitate stays in drug and alcohol rehab centers so they can feel loved. We are currently working on projects to provide housing to people with inadequate housing in the “Colonias” in our area.
Ministry to the Laredo Area
Hunger Rescue is a ministry on wheels, clearly recognizable to many of the chronic homeless people in our community. We also bring teams to food distribution sites, to bring homeless people to church gatherings, and to bring supplies when needed.
We provide rooms free of charge for long term missionaries who cross the border and need a place to stay.
In addition we facilitate mission teams that have helped churches with housing projects on both sides of the border.
We distribute free food to local churches to use to supplement their food bank work. Product and quantities vary. We also distribute food bags monthly and basic necessities and clothing as available to the needy families in the Penitas, the surrounding areas of Laredo Stepping Stone. Call us to find out what is currently available or if you are willing to donate some goods, we will be glad to pick up from you.
LSS also conducts a ministry called Hunger Rescue. You can read more about it HERE
